Q: I have been trying to help my mother-in-law clean her house. It has not been cleaned in several years. The problem is she has grease all over her cabinets oil soap did nothing, orange glo nothing, have tried several products but nothing has worked the grease remains. The cabinets are in like new condition but I have never seen so much grease, I have convinced her to replace her range hood and I have cleaned her oven. I am trying not to kill the finish (if there is any left) any suggestions?

Tip #1: I hate to admit it but the Mr. Clean magic erasers work wonders!! Best $1.88 I have ever spent. Can find them at Wally World.

Tip #2: I know it is not meant for wood but what about Dawn dish soap. It works great for taking grease off dishes you could test it on the cabinets...and some elbow grease with it.

Tip #3: Scrubbing bubbles work great. Spray on and let set. Wash with warm water. If it is really bad you may have to do this 2x...Susan

Tip #4: Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner works great, I tried it on my cabinets and wipes off easily. I have tried Magic Eraser before and that does take the finish off. With years of it, you may want to remove the cabinets first and spray the cleaner with the cabinet lying flat on floor, that way, it soaks it in, not drip to the bottom right away. Good luck...Lisa
