Tips from the Stain Detective
by Robin Nobles - robin@robinsnest.com

Description: Stain removal tips brought to you from Tide.

The Tide Fabric Care Network offers an extremely helpful site on how to get stains out of just about anything. This is particularly important in the hot summer months, when stains seem to be more plentiful, especially if you have kids.

Once at the site, click on Stain Detective, then choose the category of the stain, such as food/drink stains or outdoor stains. From there, choose the specific stain, then the type of fabric, and whether it's all white or has some color.

Click on Get Solutions, and the Stain Detective will spit out instructions for your particular stain. Learn how to get a dye transfer out of a colored cotton fabric by washing it first with Tide, and then soaking it in a bucket filled with hot water and one package of Rit Color Remover. Weight the garment down with a white towel to keep it totally emerged.

Stain categories include Food/Drink; Paint/Tint/Dye/Glue; Personal/Healthcare; Baby; Outdoor; and Body Soils/Unknown.

So, before spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to get out a particular stain, visit Tide's Stain Detective, and let the site tell you exactly what to do.
