Have you decided to have a Halloween Party this year?
Wonderful! But don't just throw your party together,
plan it around a Halloween theme, such as a witch
party, a graveyard party, a monster mash party, etc.
Parties based on themes are much easier to organize. The
theme itself will give you many ideas on what to do and what
you will need. In addition, you should also make a list of every
item, game, recipe, song, video, activity, decoration or fact
that you can think of related to that theme. This will help
you with any additional planning that might end up getting
overlooked.
When designing a Halloween Party party, it's a good idea to
plan down to the smallest details. You'll be amazed at the
things you'll forget. Here are some basic ideas to get you
started on your party planning.
**What You Need on Your Invitations **
Your invitations will need envelopes and stamps. You will
need to obtain the addresses and phone numbers of all the
guests. When addressing the envelopes, use matching colored
ink. It's also a nice touch to put a sticker on the back,
reflecting the theme of the party. Also, be sure to include
the following information on your invitation:
· What the theme of the party is
· Where it is being held and who are the hosts
· Suggestions on what to wear for costumes
· Directions and map if needed
· A request for people to RSVP
**Keep Track of Your Games **
Be sure to make a list of all games and gather up the
needed items for each game as required. Keep them in a
local area that is easily accessible by you. Also, keep any
prizes in a convenient place, but hidden away from
snooping eyes. Prizes do not need to be large or expensive.
Some prize ideas are: black votive candles, treat bags,
chocolate gold coins, small bottles of orange colored
bubble bath, decorated grapevine wreaths, rubber bats
and skeletons or gumball eyeballs wrapped in orange
netting.
Always have a few more games planned then you think
you will need. Some games, although normally fun,
could be a flop and you'll need some sort of back-up.
**Take Pictures**
Setting up a video camera is also a great idea. The costumes
and antics of the guests throughout the evening will
provide hours of entertainment. Have the guests back
another time for a Movie Premier Party, starring themselves.
Another good idea is to take lots of still pictures. In fact,
using an instant photo camera is a great idea. You can
use the pictures for prizes. Place some about the rooms
for guests to enjoy looking at while at the party.
