Christmas Wedding Favor Ideas
by Rose Smith - rose@wedthemes.com

Holding a wedding during the Christmas season can help tremendously in choosing a color/decorating theme, food, decorations, favors and more. Ideas abound at this time of the year.

Decorations and centerpieces are easy to come by and the glowing lights of a beautiful Christmas tree adds a special holiday feel. Favors can easily be gift wrapped in papers that reflect your theme and colors. Below are some ideas on what to give your guests as a "thank you" for sharing our special day with us.

== Wooden Napkin Rings ==

Purchase wooden napkin rings (available at most department or craft stores). Paint the rings in a solid color related to your wedding colors. Add gold foil stickers in the shapes of snowflakes, candles, or whatever you choose. Seal with acrylic sealer. Write your names and wedding date on the inside of the napkin rings.

== Pot Holders ==

Cut 6" squares of quilted Christmas material. Sew a contrasting color of seam binding along the edges to finish. Add a small loop at one corner for hanging.

== Cinnamon Sticks ==

Tie 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks together with Christmas ribbon. Tuck in a sprig of holly beneath the ribbon. Give these alone or attach a small bag of flavored hot chocolate with a personalized label saying "thank-you" along with your names and wedding date.

== Christmas Ornaments ==

The easiest favor to give. Buy or make your own ornaments. Place in a circle of red, green or white tulle. Gather and tie with ribbon.

== Miniature Wreathes ==

Buy small craft wreathes at a local craft store. Decorate with ribbon, holly berries and small dried flowers. Tie a bow to the top and add a ribbon for hanging on doorknobs.

== Small Poinsettia Plants ==

Buy small plants and tie a large, white bow around the pot. Simple and easy.

== Christmas Recipe Book ==

Type up your favorite Christmas recipes and compile them into a small book. Use a publishing program or just print out each page and have them photocopied, then staple them together. Write a special "thank-you" message on the inside covers.

== Miniature Christmas Stockings ==

Sew up miniature stockings from quilted material or purchase these at craft/department stores. Fill with Christmas candies and a pretty candy cane.
