Resolve to Get Organized
Resolve to get Organized

We're well into another year and it's time many have once
again made
resolutions to make significant changes in their lives. What was
yours? Did you make progress towards your resolution? Not to
worry,
it's not to late to consider getting organized. Instead of the
standard
losing weight and getting in shape, consider losing the clutter
in your
life and getting your house or office in shape.
Organization brings benefits that last a lifetime. It could be
your
chronic disorganization that makes it difficult to follow through
on
other positive changes you've wanted to make over the years.
After
becoming organized you can then tackle the other areas much
easier.
Benefits include a more peaceful lifestyle, which helps make
anyone
happier. Imagine laying your hands on all your eligible tax
deductions
this year as you face the inevitable Uncle Sam. Why give him more
than is due him? You earned it, you should keep it, but first you
must
prove it.
Wouldn't it be great to look for that magazine article you
wanted to
share with a friend or quickly locate that report for your boss?
Visualize their response when you put your hands on it the first
time
you look for it. Putting your hands right away on the recipe you
want
to try would be a delicious treat. Finding those sporting event
tickets
to pass on to someone at the offie is a point in your favor.
Accomplishing all those projects you set out to do will be
easier with
a personalized planner. Keep track of appointments, deadlines and
whatever else your life holds in one convenient location. Never
miss
another birthday or anniversary again.
Do you know what your purpose in life is? If not, how do you
know
what you are doing each day is based on what you want to do or
what
others want you to do? Knowing your purpose (and we all have
one)and establishing goals based on that purpose lets you remain
in
control of your time. It makes it much easier to say "no" when
your
best friend asks for another favor. Just because someone has a
need
doesn't mean you are the one called to meet that need. Knowing
your
own mission and the plan you have will help you make the right
decision for you. When the boss wants you to work one more
project,
based on their mission, you can ask what she want's done first,
out of
all the other tasks already delagated to you. Planning doesn't
equal
inflexibility. It equals control.
There are many areas you may need help in or just one that
drives
you crazy. Resolve to work on one area this week. Plan what you
want to do and then follow that plan. Your chronic disorganized
condition didn't happen overnight but you can chop away at it and
get
it under control. Your time and effort invested in this endeavor
is well
worth it in the end. Imagine getting up in the morning knowing
that
whatever you'll need you'll find because it's where it belongs.
