How to Clean the Bathroom in 15 Minutes: Spring Cleaning Checklist
by J.C. Carroll

Description: A spring cleaning checklist for your bathroom.

(NC)-Bathroom cleaning is easier if done more frequently. It is a job however that rarely inspires.

In fact, according to the HomeMadeSimple.ca website, putting off bathroom cleaning is pretty widespread. The site's Dirty Little Secrets survey revealed that many of us "tend to avoid the bathroom in the house with the most unpleasant odour". So for the freshest house possible this spring, here's a checklist to take care of the bathroom once and for all:

Get Ready: Put together and create a permanent location for such aids as: an all-purpose, anti-bacterial cleanser for countertops, mirror and glass; an air freshener; paper towels, toilet brush, garbage can, and laundry hamper.

Tidy Up: Toss discarded clothes and soiled towels into the laundry basket. Replace lids on toiletries, discard used items and clear the countertops by making use of cupboards and drawer space.

Toilet Tackle: Use a brush and disinfectant cleansers for both inside and around the outside of the bowl. All-purpose, antibacterial sprays are quick and convenient with tough cleaning and disinfecting power. Or, for targeting stubborn grime in crevices and corners, try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It does a superior job on countertops, mirrors and glass too. If stains are really stubborn try the one with 50 percent more strength, called Magic Eraser Extra Power.

Super-Clean Sink: Put your nose close to the two drain holes before you clean, to test for hidden sources of odour. Smelly grime often accumulates in sink pipes. If so, it can be eliminated entirely with an all-purpose spray, or, in the spots you can't see, with a specialty product for drains.

Reliable Air: Plug in an air freshener that works around the clock, like the electric Febreze Noticeables. This one automatically alternates two complementary scents in your bathroom keeping it refreshed all day.

Countertop Wipedown: With paper towels and a multi-surface spray, wipe over the surfaces, in front, in between and behind your toiletries, grooming products, and appliances. Clean mirrors, glass and chrome.

Mop and Go: Lastly, use Swiffer for the floor. For bathrooms, the most effective line is the Swiffer WetJet, an all-in-one, ready-to-use mopping system. The premixed cleaning solution cleans thoroughly, then the disposable super-absorbent pad absorbs and traps the dirt.
