House cleaning is a chore that none of us enjoys and finding for ways to make the job be done faster is always utmost in our minds.

Is it possible to do the housework faster and still have the house bacteria free and really clean? Sure, it is and some of the ingredients are right on your pantry shelves, we don't need fancy ingredients or expensive cleansers to get the job done.

Here are 10 shortcuts that will make the job easy and fast;

1. AIR FRESHENER -- Dab a little perfume or air freshener on a light bulb, when the light is turned on, there will be a fresh and clean smell to the room. This works great using pine sol, Lysol, perfume or men's after-shave too!

2. FAST CLEANING -- Use wipes!! Lysol, furniture polish, leather cleaner, and glass wipes can help you to go through your house fast and it makes it look like you spent hours and hours.

3. GET RID OF CLUTTER -- Pick up all of the things in a room that 'don't belong' and the room will improve in looks about 75%. Put them in their proper homes and you have made a real difference.

4. CRAYON MARKS -- The best cleaner is to mix enough baking soda and water to make a paste, wipe over the spot and use a damp cloth to wash off. The baking soda will eat through the wax and pull the mark off.

5. DEODORIZE FURNITURE -- Wipe your furniture with a damp cloth that is moistened with a solution of 1/2 cup baking soda to a gallon of water. The room will smell fresher and so will your furniture and it will get rid of dust, hair and residue. This will give your furniture a freshly washed look!

6. SPRAY AMMONIA -- Add 1/4 cup of ammonia to a spray bottle and fill the rest of the way with water. Go from room to room and clean off all glass, knick-knacks, windows, mirrors and TV screens.

7. METHOD TO (FAST) CLEANING -- Instead of cleaning one room at a time, start on one wall of a room and follow the walls around the house cleaning everything you come in contact with. Leave the vacuuming (sprinkle baking soda on the carpeting first) until last and when you put the vacuum away your house is completely finished and ready for company.

8. KEEP TOOLS HANDY -- Keep all of your wipes, extra paper toweling and a small plastic bag in a container that you can carry along as you are cleaning. No more running to get another can or paper everything that you have is handy and your work goes faster.

9. 10 MINUTE CLEAN-UP -- After a shower or bath, take a few minutes to use a glass wipe to clean off the counter, mirror, shower stall, handles etc. Your bathroom will always look clean and bacteria free and smell good too!

10. WASHING CLOTHES -- Throw a load of clothes in the washer before you sit down to eat, when you are through eating, throw them in the dryer and after the dishes are finished, your clothes will be too!

We tend to make housework a big job when in reality, we need to freshen up the house once a week and only do a major clean once a month. If we are organized, the amount of clutter in the home is minimal and we are fighting dust not DIRT. Make it simple and do not let your home take the fun out of life.
