The Secret To Effective Mouse Control

There really is no secret to effective mouse control. One of the main things you can do to keep mice away from your home is to just keep it clean. Really, if you think about it, that’s the trick to any kind of pest control, just plain old cleanliness.

All pests, including mice, are after food sources. If there is even the tiniest bit of food in your house a mouse will find it and your house will be infested with more of them before you know it. Now, not everyone can keep every single piece of food out of their house. Also, not everyone can also keep their house perfectly clean all day every day. At some point, there will be some kind of food source left around your house that a mouse will detect. For this reason, there are some tricks and products you can use to eradicate mice without having to clean your house all hours of the day.

1.    The first thing to do, if you already have mice, is to find out where they are coming from. If you can locate the places in your home where they are getting through the walls etc., you will be able to stop them from coming in anymore. Once you have found the main nest, you will want to use a good mouse control product to kill the remaining mice.

2.    The next thing you will want to do is perform a generalized sanitization of your entire home. You will want to use some of the really strong stuff since you won’t be doing this too often. Since you can’t keep your home perfectly clean all the time, some strong cleaning solutions will help to repel the mice for longer periods of time, despite the fact that you might have a few crumbs of food laying around.

3.    The final step is to continue applying mouse control products around your home to ensure that any future mice that make their way into your home are either caught or killed.

Choosing the right mouse control product is another story. There are several different kinds and you will want to make sure to select the right one for the job. Also, some people don’t like to kill the mice, which is why there are live-catch traps that allow you to take the rodent away from your home and set it free.

Here is a brief list of some of the kinds of mouse control products you can use:

•    Live-Catch Traps
•    Packets and Blox
•    Bait Stations
•    Glue Boards
•    Snap Traps

You can do some additional research to find out what some of these methods are. One tip, if you are interested in helping out PETA (an organization dedicated to reducing animal suffering), is to not use glue boards. Yes, they do work, but many people don’t like them because they create suffering since the rodent is stuck to the trap to starve to death.

So, there are definitely ways to get rid of mice in and around your home. Just remember that you can prevent most pest infestations, especially mice, by ensuring that your home is always as clean as possible.
