What is Your Dirty Little Secret? : Spring Cleaning Solutions

Description: Canadian readers share their dirty household secrets.

Sponsors:

(NC)-When Canadians were asked recently on a HomeMadeSimple.ca survey about their "dirtiest little household secrets" it was revealed that most of our homes have cleaning problems in common. What a relief. But more importantly, it was only once all the dirty little secrets were finally exposed that helpful solution tips were freely exchanged. Here's a sampling:

Secret: You neglect to clean the inside of the fridge, even though you have a sneaking suspicion something leaked a week ago.

Tip: It can be a quick and easy job with products like Mr. Clean Antibacterial Multi-Surfaces Cleaner spray. After spraying be sure to rinse surfaces with potable water.

Secret: You let dust sit on light fixtures, ceiling fans, and other hard-to-reach spots.

Tip: Dust clings onto the thousands of soft fluffy fibres of a Swiffer duster, and it is readily available with an extendable handle of up to one metre. The pivoting head can be locked into four different positions to clean angled surfaces, such as ceiling fans, cabinet corners, and baseboards.

Secret: When unexpected guests drop in, you toss your stinky shoes and sports gear into the closet and hope for the best.

Tip: Spray articles instead with a quick shot of Febreze Fabric Refresher. Its molecules penetrate into the fabric to eliminate odours - before you toss them in the cupboard.

Secret: You leave crumbs underneath the couch rather than picking them up.

Tip: Spoil yourself by getting every last crumb with a Swiffer Carpet Flick. Its innovative design flicks dirt, crumbs, glitter, grass, and other small bits off your carpet and traps them onto a disposable adhesive cartridge. This handy tool has a convenient transparent window, so when you see that the cartridge is full, simply throw the cartridge away and insert a new one.

Secret: You tend to avoid the bathroom in the house that has the most unpleasant odour.

Tip: Consider a permanent, electric air freshener. Febreze Noticeables for example, will alternate two complementary scents in your bathroom keeping it refreshed all day.

Secret: After you use your reusable plastic containers to hold greasy leftovers they remain so stained, they are immediately disposable.

Tip: Top marks are given for the grease cutting ability of Dawn. A good soaking with this dish liquid combined with hot water, should deliver plastic containers like new.

Secret: After using your dishwasher, you often have to scratch off unwanted, dried-on food.

Tip: Use the 2-in-1 ActionPacs by Cascade, for concentrated cleaning, rinsing and shine protection.
