Hi! My name is Rachel Paxton, and I am a freelance writer and homeschooling mom and grandma. Our children range in age from 30 to 8, and our grandson is 6 months old. I have been sharing my homemaking skills on this web site for 20 years.
After graduating from college with a degree in English and business administration, I was employed as a technical editor for 10 years before quitting my full time job to work from home full time and devote more of my time to raising and homeschooling my three young sons. I was born and raised in southeastern Washington state and currently live on a one-acre homestead where we raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, and two rabbits.
Our family is also involved in 4H, where I teach local kids basic baking skills. My kids entered their baking into the county fair for the first time last year, and one of my sons won a reserve grand champion ribbon for his blackberry pie bars. It will be hard for him to beat that next year!
