Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
5 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2-1/4 cups milk
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
1/2 cup thinly sliced water chestnuts
2 lbs. fresh asparagus spears, cooked
strips of lemon rind (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions:
Melt butter and stir in the flour and seasonings. Gradually add milk and lemon juice; cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in blue cheese and water chestnuts. Arrange hot asparagus spears on serving platter and top with hot sauce.
Serving Suggestions:
Garnish with lemon rind.
