1 lb. beef stew meat Pepper 1 large slice ginger 1 clove garlic |
1 stalk green onion 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1/2 tsp. sesame oil 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. anise seed, tied in spice bag |

Saute the above ingredients for a few minutes (except anise). Turn into deep saucepan and add sufficient water to cover the meat, add anise. Bring to a boil, simmer for 3 hours. Remove anise. Serve with the gravy on boiled white rice. |
