4 lb. green tomatoes 4 lb. brown sugar 1 tbsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. salt 1/2 c. ground beef suet |
4 lb. apples 1 lb. raisins 1 lb. currants 1 tsp. cloves |

Wash and trim tomatoes, cut into halves or quarters depending on size and soak overnight in a salt water solution (a good handful of salt in enough cold water to cover). Run tomatoes and apples through coarse blade of food chopper. Mix with remaining ingredients and cook slowly for 1 hour, stirring frequently. Seal in sterilized pint jars. Makes 11 pints and keeps for years. |
