Cherry Dumpcake
by Jacob Martus

Finding a good, yet healthy dessert can be a challenge at times. I have always struggled to find a great dessert to finish my meals with. Recently though, I found an old family recipe for something called Cherry Dumpcake. I didn't remember ever trying it before, so I decided to test it out.

To my great pleasure, the recipe was wonderful. Cherry Dumpcake can be a great dessert for any occassion. I always make sure to have a dish of Cherry Dumpcake around for get together's and special occasions.

Ingredients:
---------------
Cherry Pie Filling
Pineapple Chunks
Crushed Almonds
Half a stick of margarine
Cake Mix

Directions:
--------------
1. Start by preheating your oven at 425 degrees. Dump pineapple chunks along the bottom of a 9 x 13 nonstick baking pan.

Reader comment: This sounds like a keeper!!!...one I can do and look like I have been in the kitchen all week long!!! (smiles). I would like to know if you drain the pineapple first or just use the fruit and juice all together...Diana. Editor's Answer: Yes, use juice and all!

2. Use one can of cherry pie filling and spread it over top of pineapple chunks.

3. Take one bag of cake mix and pour it evenly over the cherry pie filling.

4. Use 1/2 cup of crushed almonds, and pour evenly over cake mix.

5. Cut 1/2 of the margarine into thin slices. Place slices evenly over entire cake.

6. Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

7. Let stand for 10 minutes. Place any remaining cake in refrigerator.

So there you go. A quick, easy, and delicious recipe that will brighten up any occasion. This recipe is also a great snack to prepare for hungry kids. It tastes delicious and stands out from other "regular" desserts.
