Easy Crock Pot Lasagna
My family loves homemade lasagna. When we are cooking a large family meal for a birthday or big family get together we often serve lasagna. I recently tried making lasagna in the crock pot, and it is every bit as good as the traditional recipe.
Prepare your crock pot in the morning and have this delicious dish ready at dinner time! To make lasagna in your crock pot you will need:
1 lb. ground hamburger
1 small onion, chopped
1 jar favorite spaghetti sauce
1 small container cottage cheese
1 1/2 c. grated cheese (cheddar, monterey jack)
6 no-cook dry lasagna noodles
In a large skillet, cook hamburger and onion until hamburger is browned. Drain grease. Stir in spaghetti sauce and cook for about 10 minutes, until flavors are blended.
In a small bowl, mix together cottage cheese and 1 cup grated cheese.
Spoon 1/3 hamburger mixture into the bottom of the crock pot. Break 3 lasagna noodles in half and arrange on hamburger mixture. Add half cottage cheese mixture on top of noodles. Repeat with another layer of hamburger, noodles, and cottage cheese, ending with the remaining hamburger mixture. Sprinkle 1/2 c. grated cheese on top.
Cover crock pot and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
