Description: Information about Weeping Norway Spruce.
Weeping Norway Spruce (family: Pinaceae) is a rare, exquisite looking conifer that creates a great focal point for any garden. They are very slow growing and easy to care for.
This variety of spruce grows outward instead of upward. Left untrained, it will grow 1-3 ft tall and 10-15 ft wide at maturity. However, if you stake a young tree, it will grow to be at least 6 ft tall.
Because the Weeping Norway Spruce is so trainable, it is very suitable for small garden areas and especially rock gardens. It makes a wonderful centerpiece and also looks attractive draped over walls or against hillsides. You can prune the tips of the branches to suit your landscape.
Weeping Norway Spruce trees grow best in full sun, although they will tolerate partial shade. They require light watering, and in general are very low maintenance.
