One great idea is to design a baby shower cake and make it look like a pregnant belly. This can be done by placing a circular cake in front of a rectangular cake and frosting them together to resemble that of a pregnant belly.

So, essentially each person gets their own cake. You can easily personalize these with people names or by decorating each one with different colors.
The main ingredient to having a good baby shower cake and a unique idea for the cake is time. You want to plan ahead and leave yourself enough time to make the cake or cakes at your leisure. IF you are rushed to finish the cake right before the party it will not be very creative.
