Fireworks Floats for the Fourth of July
by

These festive fireworks floats are a great treat for the Fourth of July or any time. When is the last time you had Pop Rocks?? Your kids will love these tasty floats and all the fireworks they create in their mouths.

Fourth of July Fireworks FloatYou will have a lot of fun with these. All you need is:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Any red soda
  • Red and blue Pop Rocks

I have to admit I had a hard time finding Pop Rocks. I couldn't find them at Walmart. I actually ended up getting them at the Dollar Store! They had them three packages for a dollar.

You can use any flavor of red soda. I used a generic raspberry soda that ended up making delicious floats!

Combine the ice cream and soda like you normally would to make an ice cream float. Sprinkle the Pop Rocks on top and watch the fireworks. They keep on crackling after you eat the float, my boys said they could feel them popping in their stomachs! I served ours in pint-sized canning jars instead of regular glasses which made them seem more special.

These were a bit hit, I will definitely be making them again for a fun summer treat.

I found this great idea on this web site.
