Materials Needed:
Polyester fiberfill or styrofoam balls
Homespun material or old flannel shirts in Christmas colors - TORN into 1/2 inch strips
Clothespins to dry rag balls
Wax and peppermint Scent
Let's start by melting our wax in a double boiler. You want to melt you wax to 150 degrees. If you wax starts to smoke please turn down as your wax is way to hot!
Take your Polyester Fiber Fill and form into a ball and start wrapping strips of TORN homespun material or old flannel shirts around the fiberfill. Tuck each strip under the strip before to secure your strips. Or if you are using a stryofoam ball just wrap your strips of fabric around each ball and secure your strips with the last strip.
Once you are done securing and covering your ball with strips of fabric you will want to add one last strip and secure on end but leave the other end unsecured so we can hang it to dry!
Next add your scent into your melted wax! You can use any Christmas scent or scent of your choice! Use as much as you like to get the scent you prefer! Now dip your rag ball into the wax, your wax ball will want to float so use a wooden spoon to push down into the wax. Now hang your rag ball with our extra strip of fabric and clothespin. At this point before the wax has a chance to dry you can add glitter to make more a Christmas apperance. Now your rag balls are complete you could add a hook and hang as ornaments or put into a bowl for a pretty centerpiece you could even add some poinsettas!
