Even though many of us spend a considerable amount of time in the living room and kitchen, we actually spend more of our time in the bedroom even though most of this is sleeping. With the time spent relaxing watching television in bed, reading a book or generally winding down during the weekend and evening, the bedroom is a very important place to have a mellow feel with both the colour scheme and furniture.
The bedroom is the place you can reflect your personal style, starting as a teenager right up to adulthood with both the furniture and accessories. Bedroom furniture has evolved over the years with so many styles, designs, sizes and colours to choose from it can be quite daunting which to choose, but exciting at the same time.
Looking to buy bedroom furniture, one of the most important pieces of furniture is the wardrobe as this will be holding a great deal of clothing, accessories as well as suitcases or even shoes below the clothes you are hanging inside.
Depending on the bedroom size may depend on the size of wardrobe you are seeking. There are several different sizes which are built in wardrobe as well as freestanding wardrobes which come in sizes of single, double and triple, although each of these can vary in size depending on the manufacturer. When looking for a wardrobe, make careful measurements of any existing wardrobe you are looking to replace or the alcove or open area where you wish your new wardrobe to stand.
When taking measurements, make sure you measure in both cm’s and inches even though many websites should have both printed next to the image of the wardrobe, this is not always the case. There are several points to remember when measuring for a new wardrobe. The first is to bear in mind how much space you will have in front of your new wardrobe as this can limit how far the door or doors open. The last thing you need is to have a beautiful new wardrobe in your room, only to find the doors do not open fully due to lack of space. Even though the wardrobes depth may be fine compared to the open space available, some designs of wardrobe have a base which has a wider depth than the body of the wardrobe. This extra inch for example at the bottom can make all the difference so bear this in mind when taking measurements.
Your home can be a major factor in the wardrobe you fall in love with either online or via a highstreeet retailer. If you have a large bedroom, you may look to invest in a triple wardrobe such as a white Provence triple wardrobe. Even though many wardrobes come in a series of parts, check that your staircase can allow a large wardrobe up without obstructions or incident such as tearing your wallpaper.
A particular type of wardrobe which can be very beneficial is what is called a Knock Down Wardrobe. This variety of wardrobe comes with the same strong design as a standard made wardrobe but has been designed to allow it to be assembled but then disassembled without losing any of its strength or quality. The joins and hinges used to build a knock down wardrobe allow you to easily take apart the wardrobe and move it to another room or to a new home when you decide to move. With many retailers, the type of wardrobe such as a pine wardrobe are stated along with measurements, so look out for the Knock Down Wardrobe variation as these can be extremely beneficial.
