20 Ways To Create a Country Primitive Atmosphere

1. Americana Country Décor: Hang a wooden Americana star over your fireplace or a bench.

2. Benches: Use an old bench for a coffee table.

3. Use benches in a kitchen and arrange a collection of crocks.

4. Ladders: Lean an old or new ladder against the wall and use it to display baskets on hooks in between each rung, drape country homespun fabric over the rungs or some of your favorite magazines.

5. Use grapevine to decorate an old ladder and add a large rusty star or painted one adorn with a strand of clear lights.

6. Old Window Frames: With or without out the glass can be decorated with grapevine add clear twinkle lights and rusty stars. Use homespun fabric for a valance.

7. Chicken Coops: Use to hang on the wall put your theme décor inside and lay pip berries on top, add an arrangement of crocks, baskets, or what ever you would like. You can even make another shelf inside by cutting an old piece of wood and slide it between the rungs to hold it in place.

8. Shutters: Old or new can be used for a variety of things, Put them on each side of you window, decorate them with grapevine, country primitive signs, twinkle lights, or turn it side ways space hooks across the bottom to be used for hanging baskets, use in a bathroom to hang towels. Hang in an office to be use as a memo board.

9. Lean shutters on both sides of your fireplace for a simple look, paint them to match your décor or leave them rustic if they are primitive looking.

10. Old Barn Wood: Can be used to make sections of picket fence and hinge them together then position them in your bay window to be used as shutters.

11. Old Doors: Place your bed in a corner and behind it place an old door. Decorate the door to your liking, use a wreath, grapevine garland with clear lights.

12. Old Blanket Chest Flat Top: Use as a coffee table and for storage on.

13. Old Wood Tool Box: Turn this on the side and hang on the wall, use the handle for a towel holder or remove the handle or find a box that does not have a handle and use the tool box for a shelf.

14. Pip Berry Swag: Use the swag at the top of a window in place of a valance or curtain. Place shutters on the bottom or for a plain and simple look, or don’t put anything on the bottom of the window.

15. Cast Iron Stars with Hooks: Can be used to drape your favorite homespun or pip berry garland and use for a valance.

16. Old Rolling Pins: Can be placed on end in a large crock or make a wire hanger out of heavy gauge wire attach to rolling pin and hang on the wall.

17. Old Suitcases: Use suitcases for a bedside table stack 3 high and add a light, family photo or a candle.

18. Old Suitcases: Also can be used at the bottom of a bed to hold old quilts, pictures, baskets, dolls, or books.

19. Shaker Peg Rack: Can be bought in different sizes or craft one yourself out of old wood, place hooks, old door knobs, or wood pegs. Use to hang baskets, dried flowers, candles, primitive old bonnet or( one that looks old) or old clothes.

20. Antique Printer’s Drawer: Hang on your wall and display small collectibles.
