A bathroom can appear to be the most problematic place to transform. After all, it isn’t quite easy to change the color of tiles or move around a bathtub and toilet! However, the essence of bathroom decor does not lie primarily in rearranging things but in improving the look by either adding or removing simple items. Don’t shy away from decorating your bathroom. Here are a few easy tips and tricks that can help you improve the overall look.
Most bathrooms have an obvious color scheme that you notice as soon as you walk in. This could be a black and white scheme, purple and yellow or blue and white with the white rugs, tiles, toilet, sink and bathtub matching accordingly. If your bathroom already has a particular color scheme, you do not have to change the scheme. Instead, you can choose to paint the walls with a different color that will blend naturally with the scheme. Alternatively, you can add new wallpaper which is a creative and inexpensive method, though the downside of this can be a sticky residue on your walls when you’re ready to redecorate. If your bathroom is just plain black, white or another neutral color, the same applies for you. Simply focus on the areas you can easily transform.
New towels and rugs are an excellent way of adding flavor to your bathroom. The colors of these should be carefully picked as well. Avoid using plain white towels to place on the towel rack in your bathroom. Choose a specific color that will complement your bathroom well. There are also modern rugs and solid colored area rugs for bathrooms to complement any theme. For a floral theme, you could consider purchasing flower shaped rugs. For an island theme, you could purchase tropical rugs. Adding some seashells and creative jars of sand would also be great ideas to complement this theme. Rugs can be ideally placed right in front of the toilet, along the side of the bathtub or shower and also right in front of the sink.
Another simple tip is to replace the handles and knobs for any cabinets and drawers in your bathroom. We all know that these can get rather rusty with time. Fortunately, hardware stores offer a variety of knobs and handles of different shapes, colors and materials at a low cost. Lastly, for those tiles that have gotten grimy and dull, you can buy a bathroom tile cleaner. Do some quick research online to find out which one is the best, most affordable and effective. Then your bathroom will be shining in no time.
Now that you have these tips, all you need to do is plan the look you want to create in your bathroom. Most persons can remember a stunning bathroom they have seen before; try to remember one. Then, think about what made that bathroom so stunning. Was it the color scheme, the towels, the tiles, or the sparkle? Maybe it was all of the aforementioned. With this in mind, plan the changes you would like to make to your own bathroom. Consider the paint/wallpaper, modern rugs, towels, and fixtures you will need, make the necessary purchases and get started right away.
