Many people love the look of lace. The detail of the designs can be truly amazing, and it adds elegance and a beautiful finishing touch to many different crafts, fabrics, and even furniture. If you love the look of high-quality lace and also enjoy crafting your own elegant home decor, consider decorating your master bedroom with a touch of elegance. Beautiful lace can be used in many different creative ways when decorating a master bedroom, and with a few simple lacy touches you can add considerable design and appeal to your master bedroom.

Stencil a Tabletop

Lace makes a fantastic stencil, and a large section of material can be used to create a beautiful painted bedroom table for decorating the master bedroom. This easy project is a great way to make use of a nightstand or an end table that has seen better days. With a little sanding, priming, and a can of spray paint, you can turn a cheap table into a lacy work of art that will add considerable beauty to an elegant master bedroom.

Begin by sanding the smooth finish from a wood tabletop, and prime it and paint it according to product label instructions. Next, lay a smooth piece of lace fabric over the top of the table, and tape the ends down to hold it in place and eliminate any creases. Using a sweeping motion, apply spray paint of your choice stencil covered table. Remove the material when the paint dries to reveal a beautiful lacy table that looks like an entirely new piece.

Glass-Topped Dressers or Tables

If you have a beautiful piece of lace fabric you do not want to destroy with spray paint, instead of using it as a stencil, consider displaying it under glass when decorating the master bedroom. Cover a dresser, nightstand, or master bedroom table with lace fabric, and top it with a thick sheet of professionally cut glass. To find glass of the right size and thickness for decorating furniture, visit a local glass retailer and bring along exact measurements. Have them cut a piece of glass with smooth edges that would be ideal for the job. The material will be protected beneath the glass, and the glass will be very easy to keep clean.

Framed Works of Art

An elegant master bedroom with beautiful framed works of art will look even more elegant if the pictures around surrounded by lace. Choose an appropriate work of art, and carefully wrap the matting and secure it in back with small strips of tape. The color of the mat will highlight the lace and the material with highlight the picture. Pictures of gardens, vases of flowers, dolls, and Victorian scenes are all ideal for framing with lace and decorating an elegant master bedroom.

Easy Hand-Stitched Pillowcases

Ordinary pillowcases can be used to create large bed pillows for decorating an elegant master bedroom. Choose pillowcases and lace in colors and patterns of your choice as well as pillows to fit the cases. Sew the lace to the sides and the closed end of the first pillowcase, and after outfitting the pillow with the lace-edged case, attach lace to the end while sewing the pillowcase closed. Make two or even four of these lacy pillowcases for decorating the master bed. Along with several other pillows of various shapes, textures, and sizes, the master bedroom will look more luxurious and elegant than ever.

Embellish Lampshades

Fancy lace-covered lampshades are quite costly, but if you want to find ways of decorating a master bedroom with lace you do not have to buy lacy ready-made lampshades. Ordinary lampshades can be covered with stretch lace and made to look as good as or better than expensive designer shades for the master bedroom. Best of all you will save a considerable amount of money and create the exact look you want.

Begin by removing existing cloth or paper shades, and measure and cut stretch lace to fit perfectly around the shades. Hand-stitch the edges together, and stretch the lace covers over the shades. Unlike lace that is permanently attached, it can be removed, hand washed, and line dried.

Lace can be used in many other creative ways when decorating a master bedroom. Look around your master bedroom and use your sense of imagination and decorating style to discover many more ways of incorporating lace into the decor. You will love the look of your elegant lacy master bedroom, and you will have the elegant master bedroom of your dreams.
