Refrigerator Ideas for a Retro Kitchen Renovation in 2012

With so many different home improvement and DIY television programs on nowadays, many people are being tempted to update and renovate their kitchen with a new design.

One popular style at the moment is the retro kitchen makeover, with an important aspect being the refrigerator which is often the main focal point of any 1950s or 1960s inspired kitchen. With that in mind, here are just three refrigerators which will suit this style including some links on where you can get more detailed information.

Retro Red Vending Fridge From Koolatron

KoolatronKoolatron manufacture a wide range of retro looking vending fridges, and the CV18 model is styled using 1960’s Coca-Cola branding. This retro refrigerator is small enough to fit underneath a kitchen work counter or on top of a work surface – or could even be placed in a games room meaning you have chilled soda cans available at arm’s reach.

Each can is dispensed into the bottom tray just like would expect to see in a 1960’s cafe, the only difference being you don’t need to load it with dimes in order to get your favorite soda can drink! Click here to read a Koolatron CVF18 Review which includes the best deals – with most starting at around the $180 Dollars mark making this an extremely affordable retro refrigerator.

High Quality Italian Retro Refrigerator from Smeg

SmegIf there’s one manufacturer synonymous with retro kitchen design then it’s definitely Smeg. They produce a range of high quality 1950’s retro refrigerators and their FAB28QP1 model is no exception to that rule. There are a range of different colors available, all of which are modelled on the shades you would have seen over 50 years ago in your grandmother’s kitchen.

Expect to pay a premium price though, with this design starting at no less than $1000 US Dollars. However for that you will get a beautiful piece of Italian design that will provide a stunning focal point for any retro kitchen renovation. It also includes an external ice machine and water dispenser meaning your family has fresh tasting filtered water at the touch of a button.

Red Retro Fridge Freezer from Nostalgia Electrics

NostalgiaThis one is designed to look like a 1950’s fridge and comes in a stunning metallic red finish. It’s set apart from similar rival models due to the fact that it also comes with a top freezer section. The freezer isn’t huge though but the ample capacity in the lower refrigeration unit more than makes up for that – as does the low price point of just over $200 Dollars.

It also comes with an adjustable thermostat, two removable shelves, and a large translucent crisper drawer for fruit and vegetables. Read this online Nostalgia Electrics RRF-325RED Review for more information and a detailed overview.
