Organizing at home can be difficult, there are lots of things to do and with the many distractions that come along every day it's hard to stay focused. We will give you some working tips that can help you to organize your home.
Use a To-do List
Take a notebook or a piece of paper and use it to write down the tasks that you need to get done as they show up.
By using a to-do list you are giving yourself permission to forget tasks while still rest assured they will get done, this will allow you to relax in your resting time.
Checking the to-do list every morning before you start working at your home tasks will help you to stay focused on what's important and keep away any distractions.
Use a Calendar
Take a monthly calendar and use it to write down your appointments, reminders and deadlines. Keep it in a visible place and check it every day.
For better results, combine your calendar with your to-do list: get yourself some free printable calendars for the next months and make sure they have some empty space for notes on them so you can use it to build your to-do list there. By doing this you will keep your calendar and to-do list on the same sheet of paper so you can have all your time-related information at the same place.
You can also use a calendar maker to build custom calendar pages personalized with special dates for your family and photo reminders.
Plan Your Weekly Meals
Once a week sit down and plan each day's menu for the week ahead, by planning meals you will spend less time thinking about what to cook and your diet will be healthier.
At the moment of planning keep in mind the time required for cooking each menu and check your calendar to know how much time you'll have available for cooking any given day.
You can also plan your menu in a way that would allow you to have leftovers for another day, this way you can save some time in a busy day.
Once your meal planning is ready, hang it on the fridge door, you can also write it on your calendar. Planning meals will also help you to keep food supplies organized, there's more about this topic in our next tip.
Use a Grocery List
Whenever you run out of something write it down on the list, then before going to the grocery store, check your list to remove unneeded groceries and to add others that you may need.
By using a well organized grocery list you will save time when shopping at the grocery store, stick to the items in your list and you will also save money as you won't find yourself buying stuff you don't really need.
Take a Time for Yourself
Set aside some time for yourself everyday and stick to it, use this time for your hobbies and activities you enjoy. By doing this you will be rested and full of energy when your working time comes.
