Playrooms can be beneficial in that they help keep your child’s bedroom clean and clutter free. One of the down sides to a playroom is that they can become very messy and unorganized.
Here are some tips that will help you and your child have a clean and organized playroom at all times.
Plastic Storage Containers
Plastic storage containers work well for small toys. Matchbox or Hot Wheels cars, Lego’s, Tinkertoys, Lincoln Logs, balls, stuffed animals, army guys, video’s, and hand-held games are just a few of the items that you can put in these types of storage containers.
Purchase different sized containers based on the items you’ll want to store in them. Use masking tape on each box and make note of the items that you place in them. This will help your child find what they are looking for easily and it will also be a valuable tool when it comes to cleaning up.
Shelves
Shelves are helpful when it comes to books, videos, CD’s, video games, DVD’s, and stuffed animals. Shelves can be tall and skinny or short and wider. The option you choose will depend on your space and how much room you can utilize. To make sure your child knows what goes on each shelf, you can use masking tape and mark each shelf.
Stuffed Animal Net
Stuffed animals can be hard to store because they come in all different shapes and sizes. Another problem is they are not flat so they don’t store well. A stuffed animal net hangs from the wall or ceiling and is a good way to store them. They’ll be out of the way and somewhat easily accessed. With smaller children, you’ll have to get them when they want them, or you can make it low enough that the children will be able to reach them and easily put them away.
Toy Box
A toy box can be helpful and it can be used in multiple ways. You can store the toys in it and it can be used as a chair as well. You may need a few toy boxes depending on the number of children you have and the amount of toys you have to store. Some stores offer unfinished toy boxes so that you can finish them to match your play room decor.
Hooks
Hooks work perfect if your child has costumes, jewelry, hats, or other items that can be hung. You can put these hooks on the wall near a door or by the shelf. This will help you save space on the floor and when you put them by the door or shelf they will be somewhat hidden.
Plastic Closets
Plastic closets can hold a lot of items and it also hides them from plain view. You can use this closet to hold play clothes, jackets, and other items. These usually don’t take up to much space, but they hold a lot of stuff.
Playrooms are valuable and they save a lot of headache when it comes to having a clean bedroom. Playrooms are usually hidden in the sense that you don’t show them to people when they come to visit. They will help keep your home clean.
By using these playroom storage ideas you’ll have a clean and organized playroom and the children will enjoy playing in it.
