May Monthly Organizing Checklist

____ Clean the clutter out of your garage. Hint: You should be able to fit your car in there! Toss all trash. Add some storage cabinets to keep everything else organized. Sweep the floor. Hang bicycles on walls. Mount ceiling racks for seasonal equipment. Install a peg board to organize tools.
____ Empty out your silverware and utensil drawers and clean out the trays you're using to store and organize these items. Toss any utensils you no longer use. Scrub rubber and plastic utensils with a paste of baking soda and water to remove stains. Organize everything back into the trays.
____ Wash or replace your ironing board cover. Then, put it back on the ironing board, starch it and iron it.
____ Toys all over the place? Put some of them in a box, and keep some of them out. Swap every few months. This rotation helps you keep large numbers of toys under control. Donate anything your kids are too old to play with.

____ Put your TV remote control, other remote controls and current TV guides in a pretty basket to help keep them contained. Display the basket near the area you sit down to watch TV.
____ Put up extra bars or door hooks in the bathrooms. This will encourage you and family members to hang towels, rather than toss them on the floor. Plus, you'll have a place to hang your bathrobe while you take a shower.

____ Celebrate Mother's Day by giving yourself the day off from cooking and cleaning, whether you are a mother, or you have a mother!
____ Memorial Day weekend is at the end of the month. Make plans for the weekend. Do a cookout, go on a mini-vacation or simply stay home to relax.
____ Do some container gardening. Whether you plant flowers, vegetables or fruit, you'll get the enjoyment and satisfaction of growing it yourself.
