When homeschooling, don't forget cooking offers many useful lessons for your child. My preschool aged boys are very interested in wanting to cook. Of course at this age it isn't very fun for mom, but I am trying to be patient.

They can help measure, pour, and stir. I let them stir at the stove if I am right there with them the whole time. They love cracking eggs.

When they are a little older I am going to make up some menus for them and we will play restaurant. They love giving me their "orders." When they can cook more by themselves I will let them prepare the meals.
