Please Help!!! Just washed and dried several blue shirts and they have mysterious oily-like discolorations. Each shirt have splatterings of darker discolorations (think olive oil). I did not use anything different than normal; just Tide with bleach. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi,
Yep, that's happened to me too. We had spots that almost looked like the outline of a paisley and it was black. Almost impossible to get out too. We had our house's waterlines chlorinated and that helped for a little while. Finally ended up getting rid of the washer. Problem gone. Wish I could be of more help but at least now you know, you're not the only one with the problem. Hopefully someone else will come along that will be able to give you a little more help. Smile

Your washing machine may be in the process of breaking and spitting out grease/oil in the wash. My parents' washer started losing ball bearings -- they would find them and grease in the wash after the clothes were supposed to be clean. They had to replace the machine.

Thanks for the help, sounds like that could definitely be the problem though I don't look forward to having to get a new washer.
"Guest" can you recommend a course of action for cleaning (e.g. dry cleaning) the items affected?

Hello, Do you use a fabric softner dispenser? or a downy ball? I had problems with these making oily spots , so I don't use them now.
