i had a similar problem some time back. i used a carpet shampooer without the shampoo. just fill with water and run the machine over the spot over, and over and over again. you'll have to empty the reservoir a few times due to sudsing, but it works. cold water will decrease the sudsing.
then when you think you've done it, run the shampooer over the spot to collect the water....don't use water this time! this will help with the drying.
good luck! |

| Wow I had the same problem. I remember when I used to work in the lab were we tested shampoo. If we spilled shampoo on the floor we would pour some rubbing alcohol on it. This made the shampoo thinner and made it easier to mop up and stopped the suds. So when I spilled laundry detergent on the carpet (not the kind with bleach) I tried the rubbing alcohol and blotting it. I did try using a brush and some water and then blotting. I couldn't get it all out. I let it dry, vaccummed well and used the carpet cleaner with just hot water (no detergent). That got up all the rest. If you get alot of foaming in the carpet cleaner then you will have to try some "de-foam" solution. |
