How to Make Monkey Bread
by

Monkey bread is a fun, easy treat to make for your family for either a weekend breakfast or an after-school treat. It only takes a few ingredients and a few minutes to put together and put in the oven.

monkey breadHere is the basic recipe for monkey bread:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cans refrigerated biscuits
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 12-cup bundt pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix together granulated sugar and cinnamon.

Separate the dough into biscuits, and then cut each biscuit into four pieces. A pizza cutter works great for this. Place biscuit pieces in sugar and cinnamon mixture and gently stir to coat.

Arrange biscuit pieces in greased bundt pan.

In another bowl, stir together melted butter and brown sugar. Pour brown sugar mixture over biscuit pieces.

Bake approximately 30 minutes, until it is no longer doughy in the center and browned on the outside. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before turning upside down on a serving platter.

Pull apart, and enjoy!
