If you are looking for an all natural alternative for treating acne, then give this easy DIY acne stick a try. You only need a few simple ingredients to make it, and it only takes a few minutes to make.
To make a homemade acne stick you will need:
This recipe will make approximately 2 tubes of acne fighting treatment.
You should be able to find the coconut oil and even the lavender, eucalyptus oil, and tea tree oil at Walmart. You will probably need to order the lip balm tubes from somewhere like Amazon, but you might be able to find them at Hobby Lobby. The medicine dropper is optional, but makes it a lot easier to get the liquid into the lip balm tubes.
I know it seems like a big investment to buy all these items, but if you start making your own home remedies and household cleaners, you will be using all of these items again. I have used these oils many times to make things like homemade mosquito repellent, odor absorbers, all-purpose cleaner, car air fresheners, homemade Vick's vaporub and many more.
These sticks are really easy to make. All you need to do is place the coconut oil in a small bowl and place it in the microwave for about 20 seconds, or until it melts completely.
Stir in the drops of essential oil. Use the medicine dropper to pour the liquid into the two empty, clean lip balm tubes. Place the tubes upright in the freezer for a few minutes until the liquid hardens completely.
If it is warm in your house, you may need to store these in the refrigerator, as the coconut oil will melt in warm temperatures.
Apply a small amount to acne as needed.
So you might wonder if this acne treatment really works? Tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial properties. Eucalyptus oil helps heal wounds more quickly, and lavender is used is help heal various skin disorders such as acne. The combination of the three oils will definitely help heal acne faster as well as naturally. Try it and see for yourself.
