05/20/2005: "U.S. Cellular vs. Cingular"
Well, we finally made the big switch from U.S. Cellular to Cingular (formerly ATT) for our cell phone service. One of the biggest reasons we made the switch was that the calling area for Cingular is so large. Our calling area with U.S. Cellular was very limited, and only about 40 miles from one direction of our home! With Cingular, most of the populated U.S. is in their calling area. Our daughter is going to college in Portland, OR, next year, and she will still be in our calling area. With my husband, myself, and two teenage daughters all having cell phones, we can now all talk to each other free, where we couldn't before. The girls will rack up the minutes talking to friends, but my husband and I only call each other or the girls, so that will be great. My husband called U.S. Cellular and tried to get a better deal from them, but they flat out told him they could not match Cingular's offers!
