01/25/2007: "Product Review: LA's Totally Awesome All-Purpose Cleaner"

With two toddlers running around, I'm always looking for cleaners to get stains out of whatever my boys have decided to get into.

I received this LA's Totally Awesome all-purpose cleaner to take a look at. Its claim to fame is that it only costs $1! You can buy it at Dollar Tree and many other dollar and discount stores. I put it to the test, and wasn't disappointed.

I used it to get a stain (undigested kitty food!) off the carpet, to clean the grout in between the tiles on my kitchen counter, and today I tested it on the blue crayon one of my boys used to color all over the window sill in my living room (see pictures below). It worked great. I had to scrub a little on the grout, but the crayon came right off my painted window sill. I also used it to remove the crayon that was all over the window pane.

It is supposed to be all purpose...you can use it on carpets, upholstery, clothes stains, linoleum, chrome, porcelain, wood. You can also use it to clean office machinery and on your car, boat, or RV. It's supposed to be a great de-greaser. You can even use it to clean paint off your hands...it doesn't contain any acid, ammonia, or bleach.

Overall I would say it isn't necessarily better than other products I've used, but it does at least as well and in some cases better. For the price, it could definitely replace many products you may already be using. Check it out!
