How to Make Inexpensive Wedding Centerpieces for Your Fall Wedding
by Suzanne Daykin

Inexpensive wedding centerpieces for your fall wedding have to include some of the free natural goodies that come at this time of year.

The most obvious are the leaves, all beautiful colors; reds, oranges, yellows and browns and if you are lucky to have such a choice then having them scattered on the tables will look stunning. Most of us will end up with the choice of mainly brown and brittle leaves that are easily crushed, if you scattered those on the table you would end up with a room that will look like your backyard on a windy day!

Instead you will need to add some sparkly extras to your wedding leaves, a bit of glamor will be needed! Keeping the leaves contained in a glass vase or basket will ensure they don't get broken and it looks good for your display. Fill a modern square or round glass vase with the leaves and add red berries or pine cones or fairy lights for a bit of sparkle. You can pick up the vases cheaply from local dollar stores and cheap home stores, plus you can also buy silk fall leaves for your display if your own leaves need a bit of a boost.

Berries and pine cones also look great as the main focal point of a display, use artificial berries to make your decorations as they will last longer. You can wrap pillar candles with the sprays of berries as they normally come on wire and have the cones around the edge of the pillar candles.

Candles are a must when it comes to inexpensive wedding centerpieces for your fall wedding as the nights get darker quicker and they make any room look special. You could use hurricane lamps, Moroccan lanterns, pillar candles and tea lights all of which you can pick up fairly cheaply if you shop around. If you are having a vintage style wedding then think about using colored glass to display your candles, you can pick up lots of glass at thrift and consignment stores and don't panic if they are not all the same as that is part of the charm. Rather than just having one candle have a group of candles for your centerpiece.

Fall is also the time of pumpkins! You don't have to have carved Jack O'Lanterns on each table, unless you are having a Halloween themed wedding; instead you could carve your initials or have the table numbers carved into the pumpkin. A proper pumpkin carving set is a must when you are doing these as it makes it so much easier and accurate. You can also find mini pumpkins and gourds, which combined with the candles and the leaves would be a great fall centerpiece.

Using fall colors for your table linen will mean that you can have simpler wedding decorations on the tables. You can hire table linens for your wedding that will match your wedding colors, the larger the cloths the more expensive they will be to hire. You could have a smaller slip cloth or table runner to give that splash of color and still keep the costs down.

As well as decorating the tables with your inexpensive wedding centerpieces it is a good idea to look at your wedding reception venue and think if there are areas that you want covering up or enhancing. Use a combination of these fall decoration ideas to make a statement and create a wow factor for your guests as they walk in.
